LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Working outside for her job, Becky Hill realized it was more difficult than it should be and she attributed that struggle to her weight. She dropped about 50 pounds and went from a size 14 to a size two.
"Since the age of 30, I have gained weight... up and down, and up and down... and I was 50 pounds overweight at least," said Becky.
Becky works with rescue animals.
"I have a mostly outside job. I take care of animals and I'm lifting 30-something pounds of dog food, walking dogs. Walking was a chore in the summer time when it's 150 degrees outside here in East Texas," she explained.
Struggling with those activities is what changed Becky's mentality and gave her the determination to get fit.
"Completely changed my diet and right along with that, where I'd made the mistake before was exercise. I never initiated the exercise to go along with it and that's what's made the change," said Becky.
And that change has allowed Becky to lose about 50 pounds and go from a size 14 to a size 2.
Becky said, "Self confidence goes through the roof. I'm able to wear clothes and look halfway decent in them again and not wear a lot of larger clothes and try to hide and conceal the extra pounds."
But beyond the weight loss and the self confidence, Becky says she feels like a different person.
"Like I'm 20 years old and I'm almost 50, so I have so much energy," she said. "I was just tired. And didn't want to get up in the mornings, had to take a nap every day. I don't have to do that anymore. I have energy, like you wouldn't believe it."
Becky says her weight loss has also allowed her to give up the high blood pressure and cholesterol medications.
